What is the Order of Kush Speakers Bureau?
The Order of Kush Speakers Bureau is a community service provided by
volunteer speakers from among our members, graduate students
and retirees who teach, conduct research, study and work at various
universities throughout the world. Through the Bureau, experts from OK are
made available to speak to community groups, schools, clubs and
other organizations. For the most part, the service is free (although travel expenses may
be requested to some locations).*
In 2006, OK Speakers will be available to speak on dozens of topics ranging
from African history and culture, computer technology, science and health care, to arts,
lifestyles, social and justice issues, learning and languages.
* Some speakers charge a fee.
President's Message
This is our first year of operating
the Order of Kush Speakers Bureau. Under its auspices, Order of Kush members
are ready and anxious to share their expertise and enthusiasm with community groups and organizations throughout
the United States and Canada.
I am very proud of our volunteer Speakers Bureau members and
their enthusiasm for sharing their expertise, extending our learning
community beyond the physical bounds of local OK offices.
I invite you and your school or organization to make use of this
resource and to see and hear for yourself the people and ideas that
make the Order of Kush such a dynamic and engaging organization.
