The Order of Kush is an educational and humanitarian organization fighting global illiteracy and poverty. We place special emphasis on improving the quality of life of all Africans, because when Africans wake up to their potential as a united people the faster they will overcome the social ills that have plagued them for so long. This includes African Americans, Afro-Canadians, Afro-Caribbeans -- all people of African ancestry.
Our Mission
Our mission is to first reach the hearts and minds of young African scholars, particularly African-American scholars, to assist them in creating the moral and idealistic framework for others to follow. Drawing strength from our global diversity, resources and experience, we promote innovative solutions and are advocates for global responsibility. We facilitate lasting change by:
- Strengthening the capacity for self-help
- Identifying economic opportunity
- Empowering a global community of African scholars
- Influencing policy decisions at all levels
- Addressing illiteracy in all its forms
Guided by the aspirations of Africans everywhere, we pursue our mission with both excellence and compassion because the people whom we serve deserve nothing less.
Our Board of Directors
The Order of Kush's Board of Directors is the organization's governing body, elected by the members at an annual meeting. All members are responsible for gaining a basic understanding and initiating action in support of the Order of Kush's mission, goals and programs. This includes assisting in expanding our outreach and increasing our visibility and donor support. All board members are volunteers and serve without compensation.
Our Executive Team
The board of directors appoint the Order of Kush's president, treasurer and secretary. The president appoints the rest of the Order of Kush's executive team, including state, national and international chapter heads.
Our History
