Types of Membership Regular Members: Regular membership in the Order of Kush honor society is held by any college or university undergraduate or graduate student who has a 3.5 (or higher) Grade Point Average (GPA) during the current academic year. Affiliate Members: Corporations and nonprofit organizations may, by approval of the Board of Directors, be granted affiliate membership in the Order of Kush. Affiliate members receive all the benefits of membership except for voting privileges and holding office. Membership is held by the respective organization rather than by individuals. Affiliate members are sponsors and are encouraged to participate in the Order of Kush Annual Conference. There are sponsorship requirements for affiliate member attendance. For specific information about affiliate membership and sponsorship opportunities, please contact the Sponsor Chairman. Depending on affiliate membership and sponsorship levels, more than one individual from a firm or organization may serve as official representatives. One representative of the organization may participate in the annual conference with the registration fee waived. Other representatives are asked to pay a nominal registration fee. The Board of Directors determines the dues for affiliate members and the fees for sponsorship opportunities. Associate Members: Archaeologists, historians, linguists, and members of the general public who show a genuine interest in promoting African history and culture may, by approval of the Board of Directors, be granted associate membership in the Order of Kush. Associate members receive all the benefits of membership except for voting privileges and holding office. They usually take an active role in the Order of Kush. Honorary Members: Honorary membership is based on selection by the Board of Directors for outstanding service to Order of Kush. Individuals so selected have all the rights of membership, except voting and holding office. |
